OpenAI and AWS said they optimized the Kiro environment and OpenAI models together. According to the announcement, testing on Terminal-Bench 2.1 found that GPT‑5.6 Terra completed successful tasks in Kiro at roughly an 82% cost reduction. OpenAI framed this outcome as evidence that the spec-driven approach helps the model reach working solutions faster with fewer missteps.
