OpenAI and Oracle extend partnership to bring Oracle apps into ChatGPT

On October 27, 2026, OpenAI announced an expansion of its commercial relationship with Oracle to bring Oracle applications and data into ChatGPT and to power new Oracle products with OpenAI models. The companies said the move aims to help businesses run core operations, build applications, and address security tasks using AI.

Scope of the integration

OpenAI and Oracle said the partnership builds on existing commercial ties across the OpenAI API, ChatGPT Work, and Codex. Oracle reported 130,000 active ChatGPT users and more than 95,000 active Codex users. Oracle also described an internal use case in which its recruiting team reduced market-research preparation from two to four days to about 15–20 minutes using ChatGPT Work.

Oracle is developing Oracle AI Workspace to connect Oracle applications and data with ChatGPT. According to the announcement, the Workspace is intended to let employees describe tasks, locate information across finance, procurement and planning systems, and complete approved business workflows in a single interface, while respecting each organization’s permissions and approvals.

New Oracle offerings powered by OpenAI models

Oracle outlined several new or updated offerings that it says will use OpenAI models and tools. Oracle AI Security Mesh is described as a capability to help customers find and fix vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure using OpenAI cyber models, with Oracle managing the testing infrastructure and authorized scope.

Oracle AI SMB Bundle combines ChatGPT Business and Codex with Oracle applications and recurring Oracle Cloud Infrastructure credits for small businesses. Oracle App Composer is presented as a tool for teams to build apps with Codex and AI tools, connect them to approved Oracle data and workflows, and deploy them on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure with company permissions and access controls.

OpenAI and Oracle said U.S. customers can purchase access to the OpenAI API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work through Oracle Marketplace using existing procurement processes and eligible Oracle Universal Credits.
