On Aug 27, 2026, Google announced updates to AI Mode in Search that integrate flight price tracking, rewards pricing, and hotel booking into conversational search.
Track flight prices inside AI Mode
Google said AI Mode now includes Google Flights’ price tracking. Users can describe desired routes and dates, and AI Mode will surface current fares drawn from more than 300 partner airlines and travel sites. If a user chooses to track fares, Google will send email alerts about price changes for the specified itinerary. Google stated that flight price tracking is available in more than 180 countries and territories.
See costs in points or miles
AI Mode can display the cost of flights and hotels in loyalty points or miles, according to the announcement. The feature accepts requests such as specifying a carrier and travel dates and then returns how many miles are required based on partner-provided data. Google said this capability is globally available and launches with initial support for Alaska Airlines / Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Google also plans to add Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines, and Lufthansa Group in the coming weeks.
Book hotels directly through AI Mode
The update introduces hotel booking within AI Mode, delivering a visual list of options with guest reviews and key comparison points. When a user elects to book, AI Mode offers a “Continue on Google” path that links to integrated partners; Google listed Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as initial partners. Google described a workflow that lets users select room types, review cancellation policies, and complete payment via Google Pay. The announcement notes that the hotel or booking platform will act as the merchant of record and handle customer service.
Google warned that availability varies by location and language, and that some features will not be available to users in EEA countries and territories. Deployment timelines differ by feature and partner integrations, with hotel booking beginning rollout in the U.S. in English.
